Shiny bowling, Karachi Kings overcame
Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets on Sunday at Dubai International Stadium.
Kings chased their 132-athlete target by
19.4 overs. Zalmi's bowling made the chase, apparently safe, a bit difficult
for the Kings, leading the match to the final, but the captain, Imad Wasim,
sealed the victory for Kings with two balls to spare.
A late attack from Dwayne Smith, including
fast limits at the end, gave Zalmi a fighting chance after Peshawar's batting
order collapsed in the face of bowling and aggressive placement by Karachi
Kings.
Zalmi lost 8 wickets for 79 runs before
Smith took command and helped Zalmi score 48 in the last four doubles and give
Kings a fight target to win.
This was Peshawar Zalmi's second lowest
total in any PSL match, the lowest result being 126 against Islamabad United in
Dubai on February 21, 2016.
Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Irfan took two
wickets each, three of Zalmi's scouts left after being exhausted.
